Learn to knit, making a simple scarf.

Class Fee:  $15
Materials:

Knitting:  Summer Scarf                                           

Saturday, June 9th,    2 to 4 p.m.

Lisa Mikula

Knit this beautiful summer scarf in ultra pima cotton by Cascade.  This is a beginner project, but participants must have knitting experience (co & knit).  You will learn a simple lace pattern, including purling, yarn over, ssk, and more.
Class Fee:  $10
Materials:
  1 skein ultra pima cotton, needles in size 4 and 5 (or sizes to obtain gauge).  All materials available at store. Free pattern. (Participants will receive 10% off all knitting supplies the day of class)

Learn to crochet and make this interesting scarf.  This is a beginning level class. 
Class Fee:  $10
Materials:
  Instructor will advise and help participants choose materials (all available at the store).  Pattern calls for 4  oz. worsted weight and a "k" hook, but other weights of yarn could also be used.  Instructor will provide pattern.  (Participants will receive 10% off all beading and crochet supplies the day of class)

An advanced beginner class in which you'll make the popular beret/slouchy hat in a striped pattern.  Participants will learn to knit in the round, color change, knit a mock cable, and decrease.  Must know how to co, knit, and purl.

Class Fee:  $15

  Instructor will help choose yarn and needles as part of class.  All materials available at store. Pattern calls for worsted wight yarn in 2 colors and 16" circulars in sizes 5 and 7. (Participants will receive 10% off all knitting supplies the day of class)

 

 

 

Crochet:  Wrap Sweater                                              

Saturday, August 11th,  1 to 4 p.m., plus 1 more session 
Instructor:  
Carol McDowall

Make this lovely wrap sweater for any season, using a worsted weight yarn.   Must know how to crochet. Half double stitch is used throughout, and participants will learn to read a pattern to shape sweater.  Second session date will be chosen by participants and instructor.

Class Fee:  $30

  Instructor will advise and help participants choose materials (all available at the store).  Pattern calls for worsted weight cotton and a G or H hook.  Instructor will provide pattern.  (Participants will receive 10% off all beading and crochet supplies the day of class)

Knitting:  Chunky Cowl                                         

Tuesday, August 14th , 5 to 7 p.m.

Instructor:  Lisa Mikula

An advanced beginner class.  Pattern is designed for bulky weightyarns, and we have a new bulky merino with a little sparkle--perfect to make for the holidays.  Must know hotw to cast on, knit, and purl.

On-going Opportunities

Beginning Knitting       Wednesdays 2:00 to 4:00
Instructor:  Sherrine Whalley 
For kids and adult beginners.  Come whenever you can.  Sherrine will get you started
and help with projects in progress.  She will stay to 4:30, but please let us know if you need the later time. A knitting group has formed with Sherrine at this time, too—come join them!
[Note:  Sherrine is sensitive to strong smells, so we appreciate if you wear minimal perfume, thanks ]  
Class Fee:  $1 per class (includes beginning supplies).   Note:  No need to register—just drop in.

Knitting Clinic               NEW!     Tuesdays & Fridays, 1 to 3:00
Have a knitting question or problem?  Drop in Tuesdays or Fridays this summer between 1 and 3.  Lisa Mikula will be available to answer yourqeustions or help fix knitting mishaps!

Girls' weekend?  Can't make our regular classes?  Get 3 or more friends together, tell us what project you'd like to do, and we'll see if we can schedule a class for you.
